The Ann Arbor Entertainment group is for singles primarily in their 30s and 40s who enjoy a wide variety of entertainment, social activities and outdoor adventures. Our calendar is consistently full with events such as dining, wine tasting, bowling, trivia, canoeing, dancing, festivals, concerts, sporting events, picnics, comedy clubs and more. You name it, we're doing it and we're having fun! The majority of our events are held in and around Ann Arbor, but from time to time we venture off to Detroit and other nearby areas as well. So if you are single and enjoy lots of good food, fun and laughter while meeting great people and making new friends, then this is the group for you!
Please note: We are a social and entertainment group catering toward singles with like minded interests. This is NOT a date, match or hookup club and should not be mistaken as such. A $5 annual donation is requested to assist with the monthly meetup.com membership fees, free events for our group and other misc. expenses. Any cash surplus is put back into the group and used towards a future event. Your support is appreciated!

For people looking to make new friends while exploring cultural events, films, restaurants, and the outdoors in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. Most of the active events get posted in the Ann Arbor Adventure Club group, so if you'd like to see all that we have going on, I'd recommend that you join that meetup as well.
**Please do not join the group if you are not between the ages of 20-39**
**To join please answer the profile questions and have a profile picture that clearly shows your face (no flowers, sunsets, dogs, or group pictures) so we know who you are. Also, if you join the group and haven't attended any events in the first 3 months, your profile may be removed.
This group is for young active friendly people to get together and meet each other. Our events range from dinner, movies, dancing, drinks, volunteering, making chocolate, and whatever our fine members come up with. The locations where we host these events usually range from as far west as Ann Arbor, many near Royal Oak, some as far north as Rochester, and everything in between.
Please note, this group isn't a singles only group and it isn't a dating group. It is about having a low pressure social environment to meet other like minded people and be relaxed.
We know online social meeting groups can be uncomfortable, and that there are some creepers out there. :) That's why we make sure our members know that they can contact anyone from the leadership team if any other members are being too aggressive or generally making them uncomfortable. We just want people to gain new friends and have fun!

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you find yourself suddenly single. The purpose of this group is to meet other local people coping with a divorce, separation, or breakup for friendship, discussion, and support. We will have social outings to give us things to do other than sit at home and mope! Our main focus is for adult social interaction, support, fun and friendships. This is not a dating forum.
The Ann Arbor Classics Book Group meets twice monthly (Sundays and Wednesdays) to discuss selections from Boxall's "1001 books you must read before you die". The books that we decide on as a group (via our online poll) are discussed on Sundays, while the Wednesday selections are assigned by the organizer or assistant organizer or nominated by a member. Dues of $1.00 per member are collected at each discussion to help cover site fees and other various costs. Occasionally, we will have a special event such as a film viewing, coffee meet and greet, scrabble get-together or a book swap.
This group is largely driven by its members, so make sure to voice your opinions on the group message board and in our online polls. Don't forget, the full list of 1001 books can be found under our group files in excel format. Download it and see how many you have read! A list of past selections and a guide to which books are available in audio-format and how to obtain them can also be found under group files.
If you have the time, check out my literary blog hosted through annarbor.com. You can also look for my column "This Week's Recommended Read" in the Sunday print edition. Please feel free to comment on any of my posts, the blog is meant to be a place where we can continue some of our discussions, and book lovers alike can engage with one another! http://www.annarbor.com/cgi-bin/mt/mt-cp.cgi?__mode=view&;...

While Meetups at some of the local night clubs, dance spots, lounges, bars, and happy hours will be the focal point of the group's interest, there will also be Meetups that involve movies, concert series, dining out, bowling, etc.
Dancing, having drinks with friends and just a change of scene from everyday normal life is a great stress reliever.
The group is open to singles or couples of all ages---the only requirement is your willingness to have a good time.

Meet other local members to ride, explore trails, talk gear and trade tips. All levels of riders/hikers are welcome, however, rides are geared to a relaxed pace of 12-15 mph and hikes will also be geared to a relaxed pace. No one will be left behind.
Most of the rides will be on the rails to trails that anyone can ride.
We may also plan some single track rides at other local trails if there is enough interest.

This website is a Campaign For Liberty nationwide discussion group. In keeping with the existing specification, this is an open discussion group.
However, grassroots organizing is done at www.CampaignForLiberty.com.
There is a page for each state and county in the US for people to get involved in their area.
All Campaign For Liberty members--please create a user account on www.CampaignForLiberty.com; you will get action alerts from HQ on national issues, and you can link with other members in your area for state and local battles.
The Campaign For Liberty is the premier organization fighting for limited government, individual liberty, sound money, free markets, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. It is also, unique among political lobbying groups, creating truly independent state partner organizations to fight similar battles at the state level.
We emphasize political training in confrontation-based lobbying--forcing legislators to defend liberty by making it politically harmful not to. This means: precinct leadership, political technology, list development, evaluating legislative priorities, and more. The journey begins at www.CampaignForLiberty.com
Meetup with other local people in the Southeast Michigan area who are coping with depression for discussion, treatment advice, support and friendship. Provide a social outlet so we can get out of the house, do something that can help take our minds off the issues that we struggle with daily, and hopefully have some fun! Provide a safe, confidential, open and nonjudgmental atmosphere for those who seek to improve their coping skills and are looking for friends who understand their challenges. Build a support network of friends we can turn to for support and a shoulder in times of need.

The county is conveniently located in south-eastern / south-central Michigan, offering residents easy access to Detroit, Lansing, Ann Arbor, Flint, Wixom, South Lyon, Novi, Royal Oak, Farmington, West Bloomfield, Livonia, Southfield, Milford, Highland, Pontiac, Waterford, Rochester Hills... and beyond! We welcome your community to Michigan Singles group...
Hi! We'd like to welcome you to our meditation meetings which take place in Lower Michigan, but we are open to visit anywhere in Michigan to hold a meetup, if there is some local interest.
Through meditation we all have a way to experience something uniquely blissful inside of us. We provide a stress free experience to anyone who is willing to learn and apply techniques of the subtle: cleaning and balancing chakras; being sensitive to self and other's chakras etc. All this is possible when a learner does not have the pressure to pay. This is eternal knowledge for which one cannot pay money. So none of the costs are ever passed on to attending members.
The ultimate goal is to give seekers of truth the knowledge of the self and become their own gurus through knowing themselves at the subtle level.
If you're between the ages of 21 and 41 and like to go out, meet new people and enjoy all the many things to do in the greater Ann Arbor area, you should check out the A2 Electric Underground. This is a social meetup more than an activity-centric one, which means that the focus is on meeting people and getting to know them more than it is about the specific activity of a particular event. In other words, every meetup is intended to be a meet and greet! Even if you don't like a particular event, you can still come and socialize.
This group brings folks together for electric nights out on the town. And, if you love parties, we put a lot of effort to have one big party every month that usually has a crazy theme! These have always been a blast. If you were at the James Bond party or the Wine competition party that our organizer's threw, you'll know what to expect. We also love to schedule dance nights, beer/wine testings, salsa outings, local music performances and festivals, trips to museums and food outings.
Welcome to the Ann Arbor Electric Undergound!
Note: We've made this group a private one. Unfortunately, the open nature of Meetup often attracts creepers, chronic no-show'ers and folks who just don't get on well with the others. That's not a problem for more interest/activity based meetup groups, but the goal here is to create a community that has fun together and makes everyone feel comfortable. Our bet is that if we are a bit more selective, we will not discourage but, rather, encourage people to join the group!
The purpose of this group is to bring local writers together for friendship, support, socialization, constructive criticism and discussion. The goal is to improve writing skills, handle writer's block, and increase the joy and time spent actively writing. Come see what the group is about!
NOTE: This online group was formerly called Ann Arbor Open Coffee. Spark Open of Ann Arbor, its host, had used Meetup.com for communication purposes, but now utilizes another site http://www.annarborusa.org/events .
Meanwhile, with recent explosions of online social and professional networks, we can all use additional opportunities to connect with one another on a professional and business levels. Right? My goal is to present our group members with such opportunities, new concepts, ideas, technologies... I plan on having once per month group meetings in an interactive format and will also list other relevant events on our group calendar. I welcome member input and suggestions, as well as guest speakers on innovative topics.
Since the majority of existing group members are located in the Ann Arbor area, I have selected a meeting place on the North side of the city, in the Domino's Farms complex (E.B.A. Cafe) for our monthly gathering. Our group is scheduled to meet on first Thursday morning of each month, 8:00-9:00 am.
I look forward to connecting with you shortly!

You can use this group to meet new friends, socialize and get to know the area! Michigan is bursting at the seams with 90+ Microbreweries. everyone that I have tried has been better and better. I know there are people out there that appreciate good beer as much as I do so I started this group to begin sharing these Microbrewery trips with others.
I am located on the east side of the state, but I would love to have this group plan day trips to the west side and up north to some of the other areas as well.
You should join this group if you enjoy trying new things, specifically great beer, and enjoying it with a great group of people.
You should NOT join this group if your idea of good beer is the "silver bullet" or "king of beers".
Join our group and be part of a community that is actively engaged in being healthy and happy. Gather to learn and participate in activities that support our health and wellness. Our events focus on nutrition, reduction of stress, the environment, fitness, alternative health, and relaxation. We support each other in our quest to live a healthy and happy life that is centered in wellness!
The benefits in becoming a member include increased support, a forum to have your questions answered, and many free seminars and workshops to learn more about acupuncture, meditation, yoga, weight training, healthy food, raw food, healthy cooking, gluten free diets, supplements, hypnosis, etc.
Because we also have so many health practitioners in this group, there will also be business building resources available. It's important to support those whose mission it is to improve the health, healing and happiness of others.
We are a friendly, welcoming and supportive group of local professionals who MeetUp to help each other grow personally and professionally through networking. We're about LEARNING and NETWORKING, and we'd love to meet YOU!
If you're an entrepreneur, small business owner, someone between opportunities, or someone simply interested in meeting new people and building a professional network, this MeetUp group is for YOU!
Joe Girard, who is considered by many to be one of the greatest salesmen of all times, is credited with creating the theory of 250. This says that the average person "knows" 250 people. These 250 are your 'Sphere of Influence.'
The premise of Ann Arbor Connect 250 is to consciously create, develop and cultivate a network of 250 (or more) people. Harvey MacKay boasts of a Networking Sphere of Influence of over 15,000 people! Once you have a network of 250, you establish yourself as a networking resource to those 250 people. When any of them need the services of a professional, they would think of you, since you belong to a Networking Group of professionals. Whenever one of your friends needs services provided by one of the members of Ann Arbor Connect 250, you can create an introduction and create a win-win-win situation.
The Win-Win-Win of networking referrals:
You have a friend who needs "X" service.
Another Ann Arbor Connect Member provides great service "X"
You introduce your friend to your fellow member, and the following happens:
1) Your friend is happy because they get service they need from a great professional = WIN!
2) The member is happy because they get new business = WIN!
3) You are a STAR, because YOU created this win-win situation, and BOTH these people will look for ways to help YOU. = WIN!
This is a simple (not easy) concept. Referrals are given based on TRUST. Trust is earned by the development of professional relationships over TIME. This evolves from coming to MeetUps, meeting folks, engaging, meeting one-on-one, etc.
WHAT THIS NETWORKING GROUP IS NOT: This is not a place where you come to our MeetUps and expect to SELL your product, service, or business opportunity to fellow members. While other members DO need to know what you do, PLEASE approach members in the INFORMATIONAL mode, not the SELLING mode. That is the quickest way to blow a potential relationship, and is incredibly short-sighted.
We are a FUN, ENERGETIC, and WELCOMING group. We work very hard to make everyone feel welcome. We know it can be way out of your comfort zone to come to an event with a bunch of strangers. I encourage you to make our events part of your Networking routine. You will meet some GREAT professional folks, and really be glad you did!

Have you been looking for a group of like-minded people to gather with to explore metaphysical topics of study?
Metaphysics is a word that describes everything that goes beyond the five senses that we already know exist and that which can be linked to what is commonly known as the sixth sense, or the psychic sense and beyond. It is a word used to describe things that exist beyond the physical realm.
We are now forming study groups to examine the various aspects of metaphysical topics for those looking to expand in areas of spiritual growth, psychic skills, energy, achieving higher states of consciousness and healing.
This is designed as an interactive group. Members will have an opportunity to share their knowledge and wisdom within the community.
The reason is to create a strong group bond for the purpose of individual and group advancement.
Bring your pup to meet his new best friends and you might just meet yours too!
Dog-people are the best, as you already know, and few things inspire instant joy like watching happy dogs play. What could be better than good company & getting out with your dog?
We will relax, socialize, and let our pups run free and play! Come enjoy our lovely park. It's fully-fenced (4 feet at lowest point), with woodchips (no mudslides!) and is about an acre in size.
There is a special play area for small dogs if needed, but the little guys are free to join the general group if they're comfortable. We also have a picnic table and canopy, for weather relief.
We will have occasional guests who specialize in stuff dog lovers really care about. And we will go on field trips, attending dog-friendly events outside of our park. Suggestions are welcome.
To keep our playtime safe, we require dogs to pass a temperament test prior to attending a Scampers Meetup. To do this, schedule a FREE trial day of daycamp at any Camp Bow Wow location. Visit www.campbowwow.com for locations and contact information.
We all have our own passion when it comes to helping animals; some of us are dedicated volunteers at the local animal shelter, others feel that the 9 billion animals suffering inside Factory Farms need a voice, still others are called to help animals in a different way.
The Students for Animal Rights Group welcomes everyone who believes that all living creatures should be treated humanely.

Hey everyone! This is a group to organize social events for people who are in their 20s and living in Ann Arbor - whether you are in college, just graduated, or have been in Ann Arbor for a while, this is the group for you!
We want to provide a group that meets regularly to drink good wine and meet new people. But we also want to organize tastings, visits to great wine stores, and perhaps even the occasional wine tour. Vinology in Ann Arbor is our terroir but we aim to take in tastings, dinners, and events at wine stores and restaurants across SE Michigan. We hold regular meetups at the wonderful Vinology Happy Hour, usually every other Friday. We also plan to meet other evenings at any place that has a wine list, wine sale, or tasting that takes our fancy. If you want to meet wine lovers that enjoy, what is after all, the most social of drinks, please come join us.
I started this group because I love board games and wanted to find others that love to play them as well. I have contacted a local retailer who has agreed to host the group at his store. He provides the space, we provide the games! We tend to focus on strategy games like Agricola, Puerto Rico, Power Grid, etc. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Meet other local scooter fanatics. All scooters and scooterists are welcome! We are a bunch of diverse, whacky, scooter geeks and try to have rides for all sizes of scooters, big and small. We hope that members will step us and help with the planning and leading of rides. There are a handful of favorite rides we try to do every season and we are always looking for new destinations and routes. Take a look around at our past and future events to get a feel for some of the things we have done, and will be doing. Don't be timid, we don't bite! Come out soon.

Something is missing in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area: A welcoming place for gay men over the age of 40(ish.) Okay, well maybe it does exist. But some men can't find it, so we are starting a place of our own. We are not talking about a place to meet guys to date, hookup, etc. We are talking about making quality friendships with other gay men, a place to be who you are. We don't care how much money you make, how many times you go to the gym, where you buy your clothes, etc. At the same time, if you want to go to the gym, somebody will probably go with you. If you really need advice for shopping, somebody will jump in and go. What we have in mind is an eclectic group of guys that get together for things such as: weekend barbeques, watching ball games, taking road trips, and just hanging out in general. Beyond the social get-togethers, we hope this group of men will be supportive and have "each others' backs." Some men will be out, others may not be. Some men will have a supportive family, others may not. Wherever there is a supportive gap, we will step in…sort of like a "band of brothers." This is a work in progress and we want to work together to make it work. Our goal is to make each man feel comfortable and included.
We are an independent group of runners of all abilities and experience levels. FYI - KNITTING STATS
"1 out of 3 women knows how to knit or crochet. The number of women who do these crafts increased from 34.7 million in 1994 to 38 million in 2000.
Since 1998, there has been a 400 percent increase in the number of women under 35 years old who crochet and knit.
Numbers are up in all demographics. Since 1998, there has been a 13 percent increase among women 35 to 44 years old; 18 percent among women 45 to 54 years old; and 10 percent among 55-to-64-year-olds." - The Craft Yarn Council of America
Work with experienced theatre professional doing improvisation techniques and games. All levels of interest/ability are invited. The beginning actor can improve his/her skills; an experienced actor can hone his.
Everybody welcome. (It's really not hard- give it a try)
Improvisational skills impact all areas of life.
Improvisation is played as a game or exercise, and can also provide valuable "in the moment" skills for the actor. All stage work must remain fresh and new each night. In every performance an actor makes discoveries that cannot be anticipated. One must listen and react authentically. If an actor steps outside of the "moment" he/she becomes self-conscious and loses focus.
Improvisation is immediate. One cannot know what is going to happen next; one does not know what to expect. Working with this technique allows an actor to let go of preconceived expectations, for there are no scripts, no rehearsals.
Laura Gumina has worked in the theatre for over 35 years, and also teaches. She will guide us through the learning and participation process. This is great fun.
And there's no "wrong answer", there is no "wrong way" to do improvisation. There are certain guidelines and structures that will be provided- but an actor experiences great freedom and creativity doing improvisation..Alive in the Moment!.

You have two options to make your membership due. If you will only attend "Metro Detroit Fun Times" events few times a year, we will suggest you follow our Pay As You Go Plan. It is FREE to stay as a member, but there is a $1.00 Meetup fee for each event, which will be collected on location before we begin the activity. However, if you're going to be a regular and active member, who attends our event more than once a month, paying an annual $10 membership fee in advance will actually save you money. Your annual dues, which is payable online or in person, will be valid for 12 months starting from the date you paid. You can then attend as many events as you want. Your $1.00 Meetup fee will be waived. When your anniversary is up, your organizer will send you a reminder email. The choice is yours. We hope to see you soon.

Walking for fun and fitness! We'll try and have a variety of walks in the Livonia, Plymouth, Novi and Farmington areas.
Welcome! I'm looking for people to go walking and hiking with in the Livonia, Farmington, Novi and Plymouth areas. I'd like to do a variety of walks from parks to neighborhood areas. Let's hear some of your ideas and start walking!!
We will also host other activities too such as: cycling, kayaking, dinner nights and picnics. The limits of what we do are only limited by our imaginations! The legal bit...Keep in mind that you will be participating in walks and all activities at your own risk. You are solely responsible for your health and fitness levels and ensuring you are up for taking a walk. I will try to access how "difficult" a walking route is, but I am not a fitness trainer or professional "walker". I'm just someone like many of you wanting to go on a social outing and get some exercise.
In joining Livonia Walks you are doing so at your own risk and the responsibility is yours alone when participating in walks. I do encourage you all to bring the following on the walks: water, sunscreen, hat and good study shoes.

Interested in discussing the bible from a non-dogmatic point of view? Curious about other points of view? Sometimes wonder if what you've heard about the bible seems a bit far-fetched? Ever wondered if Jesus did or said the things you've heard? Or maybe if he even existed at all? Wonder how we got the bible and if there's any reason to believe what it says?
Join us as we delve into these questions and more in a friendly, open atmosphere where different perspectives are welcome and no opinions are anathema.
Potential topics: the documentary hypothesis, the historical Jesus, the synoptic problem, textual criticism, dating and authorship, comparative theology, etc.
Hello everyone! I decided to start this group for several reasons but the main reason is to meet more people and to do fun and mature activities. I was in several meetup groups when I lived in Atlanta and met some wonderful people while doing some great things. Since I've moved back to Metro Detroit, I've heard the same thing over and over: "there isn't anything to do". My goal is to prove that there are things to do, not only in Detroit but the surrounding areas as well.
This group is for the mature 20-30's crowd. Some of our various activities will include game nights, bowling, poetry reading, dinners, volunteering, wine tasting and much more. My goal is to create a group that caters to it's members. So if there are any activities that you all would like to do, feel free to let me know. This wouldn't be the great group that it is if it wasn't for our members and their suggestions.
Feel free to take a look around; view our members, our ratings and calendar. I hope that you find that this group is something that you are interested in and will join. If you do, please take a look at the policy and procedures page and schedule yourself for a meetup!
Hope to see you soon!

Greetings Brighton IBD Meetup members:
This month Rob Bender will present on stock divergences both with their industry group and the S&P500. He has prepared many examples to show how divergences can improve your selection, help you lock in profits and prevent losses. The meetup is held at First National Bank at 7950 Challis Road, Brighton, MI.
The remainder of the meeting will be devoted to our regular agenda:
1) Review of 10 leading stock charts
2) Review of a past big winner - GMCR. It went from 4 to 100
3) Stock pick for the month - bring your best stock and see if you can win the trophy
Aida Mityas from Wisconsin picked a big winner for the January meeting and probably won. She has requested in lieu of sending the trophy that we email her a picture of all of us and the trophy.
I look forward to seeing you at the meetup on February 9, 2012 at 7pm.
May the trend be with you,
Beth
P.S. Gotta be in to win.
Meet other like minded people who enjoy food, friendship and good conversation! Everyone welcome! Our group will meet for dinner and socialization/networking at a different restaurant on the second Friday of each month. Enjoy!
This group is for musicians, songwriters, lyricists, bands, vocalists, DJs, sound engineers, music producers, music teachers, music students, music industry people, fans and friends. This group is for music pros, amateurs, beginners, and anyone who wants to hang out and meet some talented people in Ann Arbor.
The purpose of this group is to gather people together with the same interests (The Music Industry) for socializing, networking and collaborating.
We will have: 1. Regular meetings - so people can socialize and share knowledge, experiences, and their talents. 2. Jam sessions - kind of like open mic nights, where anyone can pick up an instrument or sing along, and join in a fun jam session. 3. Showcases - for musicians/bands who want to perform their music, or showcase their talent. 4. Social outings to see live music in and around Ann Arbor.
We offer this group for those who wish to experience and learn more about developments in natural healing, natural medicine, and holistic lifestyle practices- and to that end we schedule talks, events, classes in diverse areas such as herbal medicine, yoga, homeopathy, healing diets, bodywork, iridology, movement therapies and energy medicine.
The purpose of the group is for members (community") to connect and learn from our learning community, and from each other through these experiences, in an inspirational and fun way.
Our naturopath student interns give talks and consultations on a variety of topics of interest to a wide and diverse community, as do our seasoned teachers. We connect through Naturopathic School of the Healing Arts, Ann Arbor, and its New Life Energies center, as well as Gaia Center for Herbal Studies, welcoming a diverse group of experienced holistic practitioners into your life to help you learn about and develop confidence in natural medicine and natural healing at a grass roots level.
A few guiding rules for smooth sailing:
1) Becoming a member- we will approve pending a few questions, and then confirm ongoing member status contingent on us meeting you at least once at one of our meet-ups! For the happy, healthy experience and well being of all, we want to make sure of a happy fit.
2) As of Late January 2012, our meetup events will take place specifically during times we have classes, a special speaker, or a wellness center event. There will always be a charge- ranging anywhere from $6 to "A workshop rate" (example- a recent retreat workshop with a fee of $90). Since we have our own students already attending these various talks, events, and demo's, members who rsvp are automatically joining into an existing group of inspired and passionate students of natural healing. Payment is expected in cash only- we accept no checks or credit cards.
3) We may have to, and probably will, cancel a meetup if the number of "those attending" drops to 4 or less. RSVP's are important to us and we almost always have put time, money, and energy into creating the content for an event. After 44 meetups in 12 months, we've done our best to let the few (or, at times, one remaining) attendees know as soon as possible when the rare need to cancel or reschedule arises. We do not have member telephone numbers - we can only e mail.
4) If you could not "show up" for an event you did rsvp for- please give us a courteous message as to why- or at least send us a courteous message! We have learned that we need to remove members who consistently sign up and then drop out a day ahead of time- or who are consistent no-shows. Although of course we know that things come up, do try to give some foresight into an rsvp. All you need to do is send an e mail through the meet-up system.
Meet local Spanish speakers for conversation and fun! Come to a Spanish Language Meetup and make new amigos as you practice speaking, discover new phrases, and finally figure out verb conjugations! All ages and levels welcome. Our Meetups are every other Tuesday.

We are an Ann Arbor Area support group for parents of children and teens with ADD/ADHD and adults with ADD/ADHD. Our mission is to provide local resources, education, and support to our members. We have been running the parent support group since July 2009, originally started by parents Vivianne Schnitzer and Olga Gallego, and are expanding to develop an active teen and adult support group. We will soon be adding a children's play group gathering on a regular basis. We are hoping to become affiliated with CHADD in July of 2011--due to budget restraints they are not adding new groups until that date. We welcome those individuals with the diagnosis, wondering about the diagnosis, parents, caregivers, teachers, mental health professionals, and all others who are interested.
I'm a computer programmer. I'm also an avid Android user (I once thought I lost my Nexus One and saw my whole life flash before me). I've been wanting to learn how to program for Android for quite some time. So, I started this group as an incentive to get beyond the Hello World Android app. Hopefully, others are interested in getting together regularly to learn Android development. Who knows? Maybe we'll eventually be able to create the next killer Android app.
All you really need to join this group is an enthusiastic attitude toward Android development and at least a little programming (Java, preferably) experience. As much as I would love to teach programming basics to others, there's just not enough time.

A brand new work in progress...
This group is kicking off to bring together fans of jazz music for shows and events. Our region has great musicians, terrific venues and dedicated performing arts organizations.
We'll catch UMS shows, jazz at Orchestra Hall, and festivals. Then there are the great clubs and venues to explore around town.
All are welcome, whether you're just up for something different or are a lifelong devotee with a deep record collection. This is also not just an Ann Arbor group, and maybe we'll grow the group and broaden the name. Gotta start somewhere though, so starting locally.
Please offer your ideas and suggestions. Any member is welcome to post an event. (How many shows have I learned of the day after?) The focus is jazz music, but events can include close cousins where jazz is hyphenated, such as jazz-blues or jazz-rock.
Females ONLY! This group is for women of all ages, who would like to have friendships like Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha in the Sex and the City Series/Movie. We are a fun group of women, mostly in our late 20's and up, who get together regularly: girl's night in and out, lunches, movies, potlucks, play dates with kids, spa, shopping, and special events all across the city of Ann Arbor. Every woman needs great friends. That is what this group is about...to develop great friendships. You do not have to have a child or be married to join the group!!
Single, in a relationship, Divorced, Separated, Married, Moms with a positive vision of life!
My goal is to have a group where every woman is welcomed, a group where we can build and grow strong friendhips.
We are the council of 20 member ski clubs in Michigan. We are much more than skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing. Our member clubs run all kinds of events all year round. Check our calendar and see why! www.MDSCski.org
At our meetups we hang out, chat and practice henna bodyart! I bring henna, pattern books, glitter, transfer paper and pencils, practice sheets & markers, and sealant for your design.
The henna cones are freshly mixed and hand rolled by me from bodyart quality henna powder, lemon juice and quality essential oils. One cone is enough to do approximately 20-40 small designs. The henna I mix is fast staining and gives GREAT colour!
Henna is for everyone! The designs are only limited by your imagination. I'll show you some basic flowers if you're a newbie, or you can bring any inspiration you have found. Search flickr.com for 'henna' and you'll find a nearly never-ending supply of interesting designs. You can use a stencil, a water colour pencil to sketch out a guide before laying down the henna, or use tracing paper to make an exact copy of something.
If you want to purchase extra cones - let me know so I can bring them to the meetup. I usually only bring enough for the number of people that RSVP, as they are freshly made (or thawed from the freezer) for the highest potency.
You can put henna on hands, feet, backs, legs, arms, shoulders and even bald heads!
Joyce Oliveto is a dedicated, motivating teacher and an expert on natural healing through live raw foods, nutrition and internal detoxification.
Joyce, mentored by the late Dr. Ann Wigmore of the Hippocrates Health Institute, has inspired thousands of people to make the choices and lifestyle changes necessary to achieve optimal health...for 30 years.
Faced with a health challenge in 1980, Joyce learned that our bodies have the ability to heal themselves when the proper conditions are present. Not only did her body heal, but she began to experience a level of energy, clarity, peace, well being and spirituality never felt before. This developed a burning desire for Joyce to learn everything she could about natural healing through living raw foods.
Joyce and Dr. Ann became close friends and traveled extensively together teaching these healing truths world-wide and witnessing countless transformations of people's life back to healthful living. Decades later, Joyce's excitement and commitment continues for teaching this knowledge to the growing raw community ~ especially in her home state of Michigan.
Joining "Living Simply Raw w/ Joyce Oliveto" will keep you informed of upcoming events (lectures, meet-ups, retreats, potlucks, picnics, classes and workshops) sponsored and taught by Joyce. We look forward to meeting you!
For Joyce's full story on her journey to health visit her website: http://naturalagelessliving.com.
The Film Society is a group based in Oakland County that is dedicated to the experience and discussion of films on the big screen. We have a broad appreciation for films as an artistic medium, and we like to see films of different genres.
We also enjoy the social experience of meeting to see and discuss films. We always go out for coffee after the movie to sit and talk about what we just saw. What about the film did we like and why? What were the weak points? What director or actor has us pleasantly surprised, or perhaps underwhelmed?
Our group has been active on Facebook for over a year and we have just decided to branch out to meetup.com.
Theaters we visit most frequently: Main Art in Royal Oak, The Birmingham 8 and The Palladium in Birmingham, Maple Art in Bloomfield Hills, Emagine Rochester Hills , Emagine Royal Oak, Emagine Novi.
If you love films, we would love to have you join us.

We will occasionally have group outings or activities in addition to or in place of the regular monthly meetup. Mostly we just like hanging out with like-minded people. New members are welcome!

Come and learn about the SMART Four Program Points:

Point 3: Problem Solving (Managing thoughts, feelings & behaviors)
Point 4: Lifestyle Balance (Balancing momentary & enduring satisfactions)
________________
SMART Recovery® - Ideas
* I'm not 'powerless' over alcohol, drugs or other addictive behavior. I can certainly use some help and I believe I can beat this problem like millions of other people have.
* Booze and other drugs don't jump into my body, I choose to use them, so alternately, I can choose not to use and make it stick.
* My substance use hurts me and others. I may feel good for a short time, but I suffer in the long run. It is like the 'buy now, pay later' plan of life.
* SMART can help me achieve my goal of sobriety, but I can gain power by accepting personal responsibility for my life and what I put into my body.
* Getting drunk or high is a way of indulging myself and trying to cope with stress, frustration, and anger. It's just not worth it!!
* There are better ways of coping with life than intoxicating myself. Once I learn these ways, I will be willing to give up my addictive behavior permanently.
* It makes sense to seek help to learn new approaches because whatever I've been doing hasn't been working.
* I can learn from others and enjoy their support without depending on the group for the rest of my life.
* Once I have mastered the proven methods of self management offered by SMART, I can recover and graduate from the program and get on with my life.
________________
Because any harmful addiction or activity can benefit from these methods, all types of behavior problems are welcome.
The recovery Tools and Techniques discussed at our meetings arebased on scientific principals, spirituality in recovery is not discouraged, it is just not a requirement for membership.
We believe that, like so many other choices in life, those regarding spirituality are entirely up to the individual and not to our group.

The fog has now lifted,

With sobriety you have been gifted,
Such a gift should not be ignored.
Seek not humility, my friend,
Be humble and it will find you,
Act morally and in the end,
As you think, so shall you do.
Remember, none can see what lies ahead,
The future is not where we are,
The past lives only in your head,
Tho' it may have left you scarred.
Do not weep over who you were,
Embrace who you are today,
And in time, I am quite sure,
Your heart will show you the way.

Hi, thanks for stopping by! I started this group out of my interest in Positive Psychology, meditation, mindfulness, flow, resilience, optimism and related applications to health, relationships, business, parenting, education and personal growth.
An interesting aside is that several current and former faculty at The University of Michigan have been instrumental in the development of Positive Psychology.
I'd like to do things like a Positive Psychology book discussion, have informal chats, invite speakers (meditation teachers, life coaches, psychologists, etc). Plus wine, chocolate and coffee, because these are things that make me happy!
This is a group of Reiki practitioners that want to give back to the community in the form of a Reiki Share. If you want to experience Reiki, learn about it, or want to give Reiki to others, join this group.
We are a year-round sport and social club. We organize ski trips-both downhill and cross country- out West, up North, Canada and sometimes Europe. We also have softball leagues, volleyball, golf, canoeing, mountain biking and more. We meet up for happy hours at various Ann Arbor bars and restaurants, host dances, organize whirly ball social nights, have monthly euchre games, and much more.
The Ann Arbor Ski Club has been around for 50+ years. We have over 300 members. We are primarily a 40s and 50s group, mostly single. While most of us live in the Ann Arbor area, we also have many members from an area stretching from Trenton to Lansing and from Adrian to Troy.
We recently started this Meetup group as another way to let people know about us and what we do. Our existing membership may or may not join this meetup group; they already know the "what, where and who" about our trips and events and they will be there!
SEE THE MAIN WEBSITE FOR OUR GROUP AT: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/spiritualnaturists/ (As you will see from the main website we now have over a hundred members. TO GET ALL THE NOTICES YOU WILL NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF THE YAHOO GROUP AS WELL.) Our group provides the means to plan clothing-optional spiritual events. "Spiritual" means anything that contributes to a connection between members and between us and the universe. We learn from each other and have fun doing so. We encourage members to introduce nudity or at least open dialogue about Naturism to their churches or faith groups. You can even try to form a sub group that is specifically related to a particular viewpoint. THE AVATAR GROUP OF WILD SHAMANISM IS ONE IMPORTANT SUBGROUP. It's the ritual of the first human families who walked the Earth. That it was traditionally performed nude shows SPIRITUAL NATURISM IS THE ORIGINAL SPIRITUALITY! You will not get notices for AVATAR by joining this group only. YOU MUST JOIN AVATAR TO GET NOTICES FOR THAT EVENT. Please learn about AVATAR and join here if you wish: http://shamanism.meetup.com/235/ Then visit the main Spiritual Naturists yahoo site on how to host your own Spiritual Naturist event.

Our Parenting Choices
by Pam Leo
"Everyday, every parent makes major and minor, conscious and unconscious decisions about how to interact with their children. We may be pushed by the traditions of culture, or the approval or disapproval of family members, but in the end, all parents decide for themselves how to treat their children."
- Dr. Meredith F. Small, Author of "Our Babies, Ourselves"
From the moment we decide to have a child or find out that we are having a child we begin making important choices about how we will care for our children. Parenting our children will likely be the most important and challenging job any of us will ever have. The parenting choices we make daily are determined by the information and support we have at the time, our life circumstances, how we ourselves were raised and the parenting practices of our culture. Unlike all other important jobs, parenting is the one job for which we get no formal preparation, education or training.
Parents seeking information and guidance often find the advice of child experts and parenting books to be confusing and contradictory. One book or expert says to do one thing and another says to do the exact opposite. Parents often ask me, "How do I tell 'good' parenting advice from 'bad' parenting advice? How am I to choose what is best for my child?"
Securing and maintaining a strong bond with our children is our primary work as parents. A secure bond or connection with at least one other human being is the greatest emotional need of every child. It is also the biological key to optimal human development. Parenting advice is relevant only to the extent that it honors our human biology and promotes parenting practices that support secure bonding. When considering any parenting advice we must ask ourselves, "If I follow this advice, will I be providing nurturing, guidance, and limits in a way that maintains a secure bond with my child? Our effectiveness as parents will be in direct proportion to the strength of the connection we have with our child. In any interaction will our words and actions strengthen or weaken our connection with a child? Any advice that promotes parent behaviors that compromise trust is counterproductive and undermines the strength of the parent-child bond.
One of the most interesting and important things I have discovered in studying human development is that parenting practices are cultural. What is considered the "normal" way to care for infants and children in one culture can be very different from what is considered normal in another culture.
In many cultures normal includes:
natural birthing practices that protect the vital mother-infant bond
honoring genital integrity (no circumcision)
breast-feeding ideally for two years or beyond
babies spending the majority of time in human contact, being carried in arms or worn in slings
babies and young children sleeping with parents
babies and young children being cared for by parents and relatives the majority of the time
Cultures where these parenting practices are observed are considered high-touch cultures.
In our technologically advanced Western culture normal includes:
technological birthing practices that interfere with the vital mother-child bond
circumcision
formula-feeding from a bottle until the child can drink from a cup
babies spending the majority of time in plastic baby containers, out of human contact
babies and young children sleeping alone in a crib in a separate room
babies and young children being cared for by unrelated others the majority of the time
Cultures where these parenting practices are observed are considered low-touch cultures. The United States is the lowest touch culture in the world. While the high-touch nurturing practices of other cultures may sound strange to parents in our culture, the low-touch parenting practices of our culture sound just as strange to parents in other cultures. Dr. Meredith F. Small, author of "Our Babies, Ourselves: How Biology and Culture Shape the Way We Parent," reports that in a survey of 186 societies, researchers found that "infants are carried most of the time in nonindustrial societies, 56 percent of the time in less traditional societies, and 25 percent of the time in the United States."
Many of the infant and child behaviors that are challenging parents in our culture are unheard of in cultures that practice high-touch nurturing. While our culture has changed dramatically to keep up with our technology, our biology has not. Babies are biologically programmed to expect the same high-touch nurturing that evolved millions of years ago. Just because we no longer need to keep our babies in close physical contact so tigers won't eat them, doesn't mean we no longer need to carry them. Research shows that carrying and keeping babies in close physical contact does far more than keep them safe from predators; it is critical to their optimal development.
This information about the biological need for high-touch early nurturing and the importance of the parent-child bond is not news even in our culture. Leaders in the field of human development, Joseph Chilton Pearce, Jean Liedloff, Suzanne Arms and James Prescott have been writing and speaking out about the need to return to biologically sound birthing and nurturing practices for nearly 30 years. About 20 years ago, Dr.William Sears began using the term "attachment parenting" to describe these biologically sound birthing and nurturing practices. Attachment parenting promotes natural birth, genital integrity, extended breast-feeding, baby-wearing, family sleeping, and parents as the primary caregivers the majority of the time in the early years.
Many parents who have never heard of attachment parenting choose to breast-feed, or to respond to their children's needs by holding and carrying them often, or to bring their babies and young children into their bed so everyone can get some sleep, or to be their children's primary caregivers the majority of the time in the early years. In spite of the dictates of our culture, and the unsolicited advice from family, friends and neighbors, most parents choose to practice some parts of attachment parenting to some degree, at least some of the time. Dr. Sears says that this is the "style of baby care that parents would naturally practice if they followed their own intuition rather than listening to the advice of others."
In my Connection Parenting workshops the feedback I most often get from parents who did not have the information or support to intentionally practice attachment parenting is, "I wish I'd had this information from the beginning." We can't make life better for our children or ourselves by making ourselves wrong for not doing what we didn't know. However, we can make it better for our children and ourselves by choosing parenting practices now that will strengthen our bond with our children. When we consciously choose behaviors that create a connection with a child, trust is reaffirmed and the bond is strengthened. When we unconsciously behave in ways that create a disconnection with a child, trust is violated and the bond is weakened.
Connection Parenting encompasses attachment parenting as it promotes parenting practices that support maintaining a strong bond with children of all ages. I describe the parenting style promoted in my "Meeting the Needs of Children" workshop series as Connection Parenting because it supports parents in continuing the connection created by attachment parenting. Even if, especially if, we didn't know about or practice many of the early strong bonding elements of attachment parenting, we can learn parenting practices that will strengthen our bond with our children. We don't have to observe low-touch parenting practices just because that is what our culture dictates as "normal." We can choose to take back the high-touch nurturing practices our children are biologically adapted to expect and need for optimal development. Every day is a new opportunity to strengthen the bond. As Dr. Small points out, "we can change the dictates of culture because we are culture."
"The people are the only ones capable of transforming society."

I'm a new mom who has decided to stay home with my daughter, not wanting to miss any of those all important first year milestones. An organizer to the bone, I decided to start up a new moms group here in Farmington Hills. My goal is to have a group of Farmington Hills new moms and their children who get together on a regular basis for adult chats and children's playtime. I cannot cater to everyone, but join in when you'd like. As new moms, we will have other moms to learn from and lean on. The children will grow together and bond throughout the years. To keep the kids all at about the same age, this group is best for new moms with children born in 2011. So if you are a Farmington Hills' new mom and are on the search for other new moms in your town, this is the group for YOU!

This group is for anyone that enjoys playing, or would like to learn how to play mahjong. This is different than the tile matching game that you may have seen on the computer, but is more akin to rummy. For info on how to begin playing mahjong of any style, check out http://mahjong.wikidot.com/basic-rules.
Both beginners and adept players are welcome. Typically, on Sundays we will play Riichi Mahjong (http://mahjong.wikidot.com/rules:riichi-competition-rules-overview), and on Wednesdays we are open to whatever. We usually end up playing Hong Kong, but like to mix it up a little bit. If there is a certain style you would like to play, let me know and we will try to arrange a game.
(Mostly) Acoustic jam! Singers, guitar players (acoustic and electric), bass, mando, uke, banjo, percussion, keys-- whatever ya wanna bring! And if you want to spectate, that's fine too.
What kind of music? Anything that works. Folk, rock, country, your own compositions.
BYOB.
We are a diverse group of parents, Stay At Home, Working, or a combination of working in and out of the home, who love getting together to laugh and play as we navigate parenting in the Ann Arbor area.
We participate in many activities together including playdates in member's homes, playdates in the community and family themed events on the weekends. We also have parents-only events that include a book club, mom's night out, dad's night out and couple's night out. Most of our members have younger children who do not yet attend school, but we are constantly growing and becoming a more diverse group of parents and children.
We offer a 30 day trial so you can check us out and see if we're right for you!
PLEASE NOTE: As a member of the Ann Arbor Parent's Meetup Group we ask that you host at least one event per calendar year to keep our calendar diverse and to encourage ALL members to be invested and involved in the success of this group. These hosted activities can either be in your home (private playdate) or out of the home (public playdate) in the community.
Hi. We are a group that get together monthly to play games like Pictionary, Taboo, Fooseball, Euchre, etc. We are a very diverse group of folks and welcome anybody to join us who likes to play games. We meet at Susan's home and there are games going on on three different levels of her home each party, so you can choose which games you want to participate in. This group has been going on for over a year via cragislist, and we just decided to advertise on MeetUp as well-- to hook up with more enthusiastic game lovers of all ages! We usually meet on Saturday nights, the meetings are scheduled a month in advance . You are welcome to also introduce new games. If you like Pictionary, Taboo, Set, Scattorgories, or fooseball you will love these parties. We are a very welcoming and friendly group!
Meet other locals who want to take a quantum leap and accelerate their spiritual growth. Our goal is to live lives feeled with more joy, harmony, peace and love. We create a vision for our lives and learn how to manifest what we want rapidly and easily.
Organizers Chris Lindsay and Tim Chilcote decided to start the group because we share an enthusiasm for Michigan, in particular its prolific literary talent, as well as its breweries and wineries. The Michigan Beer & Book Club is a group out of Ann Arbor that will meet on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss one or two books that are either written by Michigan authors, or feature Michigan in some way. We'll meet at a local watering hole that serves Michigan beer and wine. If you are a fan of great writing and/or tasty malt beverages, then this group is for you. And if you don't drink, don't let that stop you from joining us. We would be happy to have you.
Meet other local fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (aka MST3k). Fellow MSTies can get together to reminisce about the show, heckle one another and crack sarcastic jokes. Every meetup we watch old episodes of the show or episodes of Rifftrax, the new movie riffing show by the Mystery Science Theater guys!

MichiganDogTrainer Awesome Adventures is organized by Michael Burkey's Michigan Dog Trainer. It's purpose is to provide fun outdoor events for Michael's students and their dogs which may include gatherings at dog parks, nature hikes, cross country skiing, etc.
Membership is restricted to Michael's students and is permission based (based upon readiness for you and your dog to attend social outings with other dogs and people).
Non-students may join only after a successful dog evaluation (basically your dog is friendly and is already obedience trained).
By joining this meet up group, you agree that your dog is friendly toward dogs and people and that you are responsible for your dog's behavior before, during and after group meet up events. If you agree, with the below group policies, please join us and have fun with other dog lovers! It's a great way to continue your dog's socialization and training.
You may invite friends and family members to walk with you as your guest. However, persons with dogs outside the immediate home family must join the group as their own membership rather than attend as guests.
Events will be held in SE Michigan, primarily in Western Wayne County, Southern Oakland County and Eastern Washtenaw County.
MEET UP GROUP POLICIES
1. Dog loving members of the "MichiganDogTrainer meet up group" are responsible dog owners who keep their dogs on leash for the safety of their dogs, to prevent dogs from harassing wildlife, to comply with leash laws and be good dog ambassadors to the general public. Some events will be designated as off leash events (such as at fence enclosed dog parks)
while all other events (such as recreational trail walks)
will be on leash activities.
2. Participation in MichiganDogTrainer meet up group activities are done so on a volunteer basis and poses inherent risks to you and your guests' safety and/or your dog's safety. You acknowledge this risk and agree to hold MichiganDogTrainer also known as, Michael Burkey's Canine Behavioral Training, Michael Burkey and/or it's agents harmless. MichiganDogTrainer accepts no responsibility for the behavior of it's members and their dogs.
3. All breeds, large and small, are welcome to participate in MichiganDogTrainer activities. Dogs must be "green light" dogs which mean they are safe with other dogs and people ("yellow light" means usually safe but use caution and "red light" means dangerous toward people or dogs).
4. Dogs who attend off leash dog park events must not only be safe (green light dogs) but also friendly toward other dogs and people. They also should respond to their owner's command to "come when called." If dogs become too excited or rough in play, members will leash their dogs until the dogs have calmed down and are capable of gentler play. If a dog does not calm down, the member will create distance between their leashed dog and other dogs and/or remove their dog from that event.
5. Members with dogs must yield right of way to strangers (joggers, walkers, other dog teams, etc.). This can be accomplished by moving off the path until the stranger passes or by placing yourself between your dog and the stranger until the stranger has passed by. This prevents the chance for your dog to lunge toward a stranger or for your dog to be scared by a stranger. It also puts others at ease when they can see that you have control of your dog and you are showing concern for their welfare. Please be mindful that some people don't like dogs and/or are afraid of dogs.
6. When meeting another dog team on leash, ask the owner if it is ok for the dogs to meet or for you to pet their dog before assuming the other dog enjoys meeting others.
7. Pick up after your dog and dispose of waste appropriately.
8. Posts on the MichiganDogTrainer meet up group list server shall be respectful toward others and be on topic to meet up locations and meet up events.
9. Yearly membership dues of $24.00 per immediate family is due by May 1st or within 30 days of joining meet up group, which ever occurs first. Participate in the Referral Program and save money by having your dues waived:
A. $24.00 fee waived for next year's dues for referring one or more paid clients (in home or board and train) to Michael Burkey's Canine Behavioral Training.
B. LifeTime Membership, all dues waived (while group remains in existence) for referring three or more total paid clients (in home or board and train) to Michael Burkey's Canine Behavioral Training.
10. If you are in need of further obedience training or behavior modification, have suggestions for event locations or have questions about these policies, please contact Michael Burkey at info@MichiganDogTrainer.com or 734-634-4152. Inquire about training upgrades.

Welcome to Michigan Mommy and Me Playgroup!
Michigan Mommy and Me was founded in March of 2008 by a local mother looking for exciting activities, friendships, and a community to share with her children.
We currently have families living in Ann Arbor, Belleville, Canton, Plymouth, Wayne, Ypsilanti, and other surrounding areas. We host events in many of these towns so everyone can have an opportunity to attend play dates.
Over the past 2 years, we have had over 4000 RSVPs to events, including Mom's Night Out, story time, birthday parties, charitable fund raisers, and play dates at parks, play structures, and local businesses.
We know you are going to love our group!

Beginners and fluent speakers are all welcome. Meetings are held at a place that is mutually convenient and enjoyable for all members, whether that is a cafe, restaurant, or someone's house. Location is determined by poll during the week prior, but will always be somewhere in Ann Arbor. I started this group because I am relatively new to the study of the beautiful Italian language and would like to create an opportunity for myself and others to practice one of the most important parts of learning a language: speaking it! Join in the conversation today!
Wecome everyone! I started a lesbian Yahoo bowling group in early fall 2010, it was alot of fun and I've decided to branch out and get more ladies involved! This is a FUN nonleague bowling group. My goal is to get our community together. We will bowl every third Sunday of the month (if we get RSVPs). Lunch after is a very good possibility if we get the interest. This group is a social group for parents interested in natural parenting, holistic parenting, attachment parenting, gentle parenting, cloth diapering, breast feeding, alternative medicine, baby-wearing and so on! All parents and caregivers are welcome!
We started this group because we are ready to meet other families in the area. It seems like there are a lot of groups that are either focused on just Moms or just kids. There aren't many that have activities for Parents (Moms and Dads), playdates, and family activities. Suggestions from members will be the key to all of it so I hope you are ready to get involved! We wanted a group that could do it all, and other things we think sound like fun as we go along. Let's have some fun!
I am starting this group in hopes of getting some scrapbookers

I would like to establish a group to meet in Ann Arbor once a month to work on real estate investing. I visualize investors and or partnerships that actually purchase, operate, and dispose with the entire group (including those members that are not actual investors in that project) meeting monthly to review the entire process. No investment is required by anyone, and all will learn first hand and in real life as they have the opportunity to see the results and hear the thoughts of the group. My goal is to create a real world, hands on, learning enviroment for those who want to invest in real estate. At some point, we may limit the size of this group to maintain productivity at the meetings. If you have ever wanted to learn the investment industry, this is a perfect tool to gain insight through experts in the field. "When business is booming, people think it will never end. When times are down, people think we will never come out. THEY ARE ALL WRONG." Robert O. Andrus

People who love R & B and NeoSoul from Beyonce, to Usher, to Jill Scott are a part of this group.
This group is for folks who need to "whip their hair back and forth" after a long work week.
We are hard core music and dance lovers...and whenever we hear the bass we gotta move something. When we go out, we aren't lookin for a hook-up...and we are not there to profile... We just wanna dance.
If you are tired of negotiating with your non-dancing friends or partner about going out to dance....Join this fun meet up. I am looking for a few committed folks who want to start a movement in southeastern michigan.
If you are looking for folks to check out the latest underground (and not so underground) Hip Hop, Neo Soul, "World Music" or House event. Or if your life is so busy that you just want to know what's happening in case you can fit it into your schedule. This meet up is for you.
Hip Hop, House, NeoSoul, Afrobeat....Music, Dance, Events. Join Us.
This group will meet to play theater-style live action RPGs. ("Theater style" means that games will mostly emphasize role-playing and story, and they will probably not include boffer combat.)
Check out the Ideas section for LARPs that we might run in the near future. (Or, if you've written a LARP and want to run it, add it to the Ideas section!)
Meetups will be scheduled erratically (as often as we have a LARP to run and members who want to play in it). If you think you might be interested in playing in a LARP some time, you should join up!
